5) Wasabia japonica 'Daruma' Yes, the real deal WASABI!!! Most people have never eaten real wasabi: sushi restaurants typically use horse radish with food coloring! Takes about 2 years before you can harvest the rhizome to make wasabi, but the delicious leaves can be stir-fried in the meantime! These are established divisions and they should take off if kept in good conditions! Keep in PURE SHADE and keep the plants cool. Leaves will wilt in direct sunlight if the temps are above 50F. Feed lightly 1-2x a month when temps are between 45F-74F. Use good quality water (ie. CP water). They like growing in 50/50 washed sand/potting soil or grow in a well amended shady spot outside with ferns, rhododendrons, or other shade lovers. farm5.staticflickr.com/4609/25104362927_63d32f376f_c.jpg out of stock
