kayota: So all I have rn is S. oreophila :( but I saw a lovely leucophylla from a local grower at a garden center the other day so I'm gonna pick that up when I can Jul 10, 2019 14:44:41 GMT -5
DirtyDivisions: , welcome to the forum! Jul 12, 2019 16:41:06 GMT -5 *
summit: Hey guys, I'm about to sow some seeds and I was curious to know what everyone thinks 'too hot' for Sarracenia seeds would be? Having them in the dome bumps up the temps a bit. Oct 2, 2019 13:36:15 GMT -5
DirtyDivisions: I’ve been fine at a constant 95° F under the dome. Once the tiny seedlings have two pitchers I remove the dome and temps go down. Oct 5, 2019 20:28:05 GMT -5
summit: @dirtydivisions Thanks for that! I'm sitting around 87-88F with the dome fully sealed but I wasn't doing that and sacrificing humidity to keep it cooler but I'll go ahead and close it down now! Oct 7, 2019 14:10:11 GMT -5

Skirt: Sarracenia can grow in Miami, right? Feb 12, 2020 0:35:25 GMT -5
DirtyDivisions: Yep, Sarracenia will grow anywhere! In your toilet even...if have the proper amount of light etc... Apr 4, 2020 23:49:51 GMT -5
mikee: Hi All Apr 18, 2020 4:52:01 GMT -5
mikee: I have just joined this forum so will make a few mistakes - So here goes I have recently started my collection and now have some 150 to 200 plants during my first year. I have some very nice flowers spikes and would like to propagate. Apr 18, 2020 4:57:24 GMT -5
mikee: So I would like to know the different properties for colour - vigor - size etc I don't have the time due to my age so would not be able run over many years can someone help or guide me Apr 18, 2020 5:00:48 GMT -5
chofah: Mikee, try this thread: sarracenia.proboards.com/thread/4766/first-time-breeding. You've asked a simple question with complicated answers. :) Apr 20, 2020 13:06:05 GMT -5
mikee: Thanks you chofah, there is a great video from The Pitcher Project with Phil Faulisi this was what I was looking for. However it still appears to be wait and see what results come from the cross. Many thanks Apr 21, 2020 3:41:45 GMT -5
Willy: It would be rather silly to expect totally predictable results from a cross. The individual plants grown from the seeds will vary, sometimes quite a bit, even with carefully protected hand pollination. If you open polinate, the variety may be even greater. May 22, 2020 21:30:15 GMT -5
petrb: Hello, I am new here. I like this forum, because of many pictures and information about Sarracenia. I have pages, where I post many pictures from my collection - www.kaktusy-sukulenty-masozravky.cz/spirlice-behem-roku-aneb-co-mi-zrovna-padlo-do-oka May 24, 2020 1:48:10 GMT -5
petrb: However, my web is in Czech, but you can find there many photos May 24, 2020 1:48:38 GMT -5
superstressed: Recently purchased a s. purpurea from Mike and I am so impressed with the quality of the plant that arrived. My Purpurea is now one of the larger plants in my collection! Mike also included an beautiful Flava var. for free. I will absolutely buy again. May 24, 2020 21:27:00 GMT -5
