Made a seed batch of (Improved Black Veins x Original Black Veins Clone B) a couple years back and they are looking awesome! It's pretty neat - while these technically still aren't pure Bulloch Co. genetics, they are only 1/8 FL genetics so are VERY true to type while still possessing improved vigor. Here's a precocious and pretty clone I selected out from the abovementioned cross. Pretty much all of it's siblings are just as nice but aren't yet as big. Them veins are BLACK son! Here's S. flava var. ornata improved black veins "F3" 'best clone.' What does all that junky jargon mean? It means that this is the result of 3 generations of selective breeding, using only my very best mother plants to create this current batch of improved black veined flavas. The mother plant used to create this batch hasn't been released into circulation, and you can tell it's top notch because of the quality of the venation, shape, as well as great vigor! Every generation of offspring was selected and outcrossed to create the best individual possible. Out of many seedlings, this is the most vigorous and best looking one, although TBH, many other seedlings from this batch look just as good, they're just not as vigorous.
some more pics of the improved black veins! This is arguably the best version out there ("F3") utilizing a different original black veined flava clone in each generation to ensure vigor and to keep the veining heavy! Pics taken 6/24/22:
improved black veins looking more colorful than normal! The body usually has crystal clear veining, but for whatever environmental reason, it's filling in with red pigments. Only one division is doing this, other plants of the exact same clone look normal right now. Pics taken 7/20/22:

iona: Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone had extra Pinguicula grandiflora plants or seeds to spare, and they are so difficult to get in the US but think it’d be a great addition to my big garden.
