A couple weeks ago I had the chance to visit almightydolla and his awesome collection up north of Seattle. When I say collection, I mean compound - he has quite the spread with 4 greenhouses (so far), a cherry orchard, a shade house for Japanese maples, and a utility shed the size of my house for all the gear. He's been working extremely hard out at The Farm and it shows - can't wait to see it in future years.
From back to front: the orchid greenhouse, the Sarracenia greenhouse, the still-under-construction-at-time-of-visit-more-Sarracenia-greenhouse, and out of the frame to the left the tomato greenhouse.
Inside it's a wonderland of beauty, and there are some Sarracenias too.
Steve has one of the best red flava collections around and the plants are looking really strong this year.
A mix of Bay Co and Okaloosa Co atros and Liberty Co. rubricorporas
flava rubricorpora "Phil's red tube" - the only rubricorpora Phil breeds with and it's apparent why
That hood
Mike's S. flava (Lois x Best Clone) "all red" - Steve and I call this one "atrocuprea" and it's a sick, sick clone
There are also some bomb ornatas lurking in the greenhouse. These clones from Miramar Beach, FL absolutely blew me away. Pretty sure these came from Phil too
Improved Black Veins looking excellent
A random flava looking bomb
flava Wide Mouth" is a crazy-ass clone - who knows what's going on with this one!
Leah looking prime
Next to Alucard - not sure if this is POD or not
In the shed is Steve's sick grow operation. These are a little over a year old:
Seedlings from the "Outlaw site" - I heard from a source in the FL DOT that the highway these are next to is slated to be widened, so I am very happy to see so many coming up in cultivation
Secret technology
Steve showing off a second year seedling looking good in it's first greenhouse season - man these plants have it good!
And last but not least Steve has some of the most colossal Doreen's Colossus I've ever seen. What's the secret? Cherry Coke, baby.
