Everyone, their grandmother, and quite possibly their uncle's cousin's great great grandfather in law knows breeding with Reptilian Rose is a PITA (pain in the gluteus maximus). I've tried producing seeds with reptilian rose countless times, I even jumped over a fire 3 different times to make sure ghosts weren't following me and cursing the crosses, but low and behold, everytime the damn thing is pollinated, it barely produces any seeds! Philly-Cula Faulisi talks about using a tuning fork to tease pollen out of the stamens, that's just a little too much for MW. To me, those stamens are for all intents and purposes, sterile. The female parts barely work and give you the best shot at getting seeds, so that's been the focus.
Before Phil pulls out his giant Saurus and says he's produced a whole lot of seeds from Reptilian Rose, let me just counter that by saying he's an exceptional breeder and can do things that most of us can't.
Keep in mind, I've had this clone for a very long time and have tried pollinating it maybe 8 or 9 different seasons so far. The results are ALWAYS the same, and there's a lot of experience on this side on producing seeds. At best, I might get 25 runty looking seeds. Most of the times, it's in the 3-5 seeds range. NEVER in the history of this darn plant have I seen it produce a full pod of delicious, genetically rich seeds!
As a disclaimer, either Rob Co of the pitcher plant project or his side kick Dr. Travis Wyman made this cross (Reptilian Rose x Adrian Slack) WAAAAAAY before a few of you were born (maybe 15+ years ago), and I ain't tryin to rip off his idea, hence the shout out.... But knowing that the mother plant produces such few seeds, it only seems logical to give it another shot because there are so few offspring to choose from. That means probability-wise, it's likely that the best of this mix has yet to be seen!
That said, this came from a yield of about 5 seeds, and I still think there's something more wonderful to be found, so if you ever find yourself confused as to what cross to make with reptilian rose, give Adrian Slack a shot!
IMO, this particular circumstance is different from re-creating a cross that a breeder has already made, put a lot of hard work into, found the best of the best, and then people are making lower quality spin-offs off the same cross to make a buck. Given the low seed yield, first generation crosses with reptilian rose have great potential if we have larger quantities of seeds and the damn parent plant doesn't want to produce many!
Anyways, here's Reptilian Rose x Adrian Slack. I redid this cross many years ago and 2 years ago decided to pop the 5 seeds that I got from the pod, one of them looks like it'll be interesting!

I think this can be improved, but it's still a seedling, so we'll see:
