This probably isn't the best spot to place this thread, but close enough I guess! NO, I'm not going to bust a scientifical and start spittin some crazy nerd jargon to explain the reason why this is happening....this is going to be more of a laymen's POV!
So what's going on here? What you are looking at is a big old S. flava var. rugelii Eastern AL lid that collected some water. If you look carefully, a humming bird is bathing on the lid! Isn't that.....WILD?!!!!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
