It doesn't get this cold here very often, but this winter has been like the ones I remember as a kid when the Northwest got much more snow. It was 19F this morning, all Sarracenia and Flytraps bundled up under plastic.
An oreo still going, wowzers! All my oreos are done. However, my purps have never stopped and a few of philcula mooreis and some luecos are still going strong. Yeah, they're all confused with the weather, as am I.
Got three plants downstairs trying to send up flowers (oreo x flava, flava cuprea, "Michelle McCall") thus far, and probably some I don't see yet...and we usually aren't frost-free until mid May. Sigh....
Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do.
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
