Here's yet another clone of S. minor var. okefenokeensis from Ware Co, GA that produces exceptional traps and grows very strong for me year after year. I find this plant has more phenotypic variance than other clones: the shape of the traps seem more symmetrical one year compared to the next. Also, sometimes, this plant produces hoods that dip downwards and on the same plant, another trap will have less of a downward angled lid. Are these differences in physical appearance due to difference in size of the trap, is it the environment, or both?
I dunno, but in either case, this plant looks pretty neat! Check out the copper lid with the slightly bronzy body, the color is also something to talk about.
S. minor var. okefenokeensis Ware Co, GA clone AE, photos taken 5/31/14. The lid in this first picture appears to be dipping downward quite a bit:
The mugshot. Strange how on the same exact plant, this trap is dipping downwards less so than in the first picture above:
Check out the dark green pigments at the "face" of the plant. This characteristic seems to show up here and there when you hybridize with okee giants. Also, notice the windows, and how they are carefully outlined with red:
Here you can see the lid contrasting with the body:

stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
