I lived in North Carolina until I was 5, and have some early memories of going to the Chapel Hill Botanic Gardens. Apparently it made some sort of impression. (I also have memories of an early nightmare involving a lily pad - turned - venus flytrap trying to eat me. Less ideal...). I recently started growing carniverous plants after purchasing two neglected 'Bug Bat' Sarracenia for $0.99 each. After killing one of them, I decided that it would be a good idea to do some research before the other one died. Turns out, keeping Sarracenia waterlogged in a sealed 1 gallon pickle jar isn't the ideal way to grow them (Who knew?). Since then, I've spent way more on this hobby than my wife would prefer, and converted one of the rooms in my basement into a grow room. Here's some pictures.
Thanks for looking,

The Grow room:
Cactus overflow (Colder area and semi-dormant)
Various Nepenthes
So many drosera. Getting some flowers on the binatas, so that's nice. Also have a VFT propagation from a flower stalk on the left.
Tried to grow Sarracenia from seed, got Sphagnum moss instead.
More cactus.
Orchids and figs. Plus one hipster plant.
Plant Babies! Grown from seed from Sprouse58.
"Brooks hybrid" x "Doreen's Colossus", about a month older than the previous pictures. Source: Facebook group guy. Almost 100% germination on this batch.
D. burmanii "humpty do". Took 2-3 months for this to germinate.
S. Oreophyllia "Sand Mountain" x Alata black throat. I have had terrible luck with Alata black throat seeds. only 1 in 50 sprouted here, and my new batch of black throat I've had 0 seeds sprout. This guy is 1 year old.
Survivors of the 400 seeds I planted last year. 5% germination and really not fertilization until recently. Getting choked out by moss. I need to replant to kill the moss and give these guys a fighting chance.
S. "Purple lips" x Flava Rubricorpa. (except for the NOID purpurea hybrid). These guys are 1.5 years old, purchased a 8 months old from a facebook group. I think there's some winners here.
Misc. Plus some VFT babies.
Ventricosa cuttings.
N. "Miranda" cuttings
More S. "Purple lips" x Flava Rubricorpa.
