So I may have a potential problem... I've noticed that I have a colonies of Utricularia subulata growing in some of my sarracenia pots. I first noticed it this summer but didn't think much of it because I never saw the leaves or flowers, I just noticed that I had these odd round things sticking out of the media everywhere. At the time I just assumed they were just really large sporangia from some moss that was growing in the pots. After taking my seedling pots inside to overwinter under lights I noticed lots of small leaves, which in my mind could only be one thing, some species of utric. I didn't really take initiative to ID these newly discovered plants because I was lazy and didn't think they would be much of a problem. After poking around on the internet today, I found that I actually have U. subulata growing in my pots. After some research I found that many consider U. subulata to be a nuisance and sometimes its presence can lead others to shy away from potential trades.
This leads me to my problem/question, what should I do with it? I know it's very weedy, but is it terribly detrimental to have in a collection? If it is has anyone had much luck with keeping a small community separate? I'd hate to just throw it all out if it needs to be removed. Also, if I do need to remove it what would be the best route to go? I figure repotting is a pretty good bet but most of the plants are rather close to the rhizomes of my sarracenia and are most likely tangled with the roots.
All in all I may just be overreacting about this, but I've learned through experience to be a little extra cautious sometimes after watching weedy plants take over in other situations.
