I've heard people reacting to lidless plants and Smurf with the words "ugh, throw it on the compost!" I find both of those mutations interesting (if not practical for the plant). But kinky lips are just plain ugly to me. I have a rather nice alata var. nigropurpura. Rather nice, except for the fact that it formed all kinky lips last year. If it keeps up this habit, I may forget to water it.
Here is the most funky-pitchered sarr I have ever seen. I picked this one up when I visited Jerry Addington's place last summer, it is a seedling he got from Rob Co according to the tag. I have dubbed it "Twisted Sister". I could not decide whether I hated it or loved it, but felt sorry for it anyway so brought it home with me. I did fall in love with the color. All the pitchers produced in my care were funky, but in fall it did produce a few normal pitchers so will see what it does this year in my conditions.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
