S. flava 'super extreme red throat' Bay Co, FL (only the trap in the center, I forgot what those other ones are in the pic below). You know a clone is super extreme when you get such vibrant colors on small traps! Pics taken 11/7/19:
Some new pics of S. flava 'super extreme red throat' Bay Co, FL. To recap, this particular clone, unlike the regular extreme red throats, not only has an amazing red throat, but also the body can turn solid red under ideal conditions. This thing looks incredible, but it's giving me a hard time, can't get the body to color up for whatever reason. Nevertheless, still jaw dropping! Pics taken 5/6/20:
S. flava "super extreme red throat" is a stupendous plant. You've gotta see it to believe it, really. Very interesting shape to the pitchers too. This is only my second season with it so it's got a fair bit of growing up to do, but it's a stunner already.
Looks innocent enough from above...
...but there's a bloodbath underneath. Look at the amount of color on even the very smallest traps--that's one of the most impressive things about it I think. The following pic is completely unedited, by the way. That color is straight outta the camera.
Thanks for this beaut, meizzwang! Can't wait to see it get bigger (and make some gnarly crosses with it...)
Dude. Bro. This clone is like totally EXTREME! I did a really bad job at giving perspective, but this is the first time one of these extreme red throat plants have produced a 3' tall pitcher! Pics taken 6/2/21:
sanguinearocks101: What are good plants to make hybrids with S. luecophylla with? Im looking for dark colors.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
