Hi folks,
Just wanted to bring attention to the first ever (and hopefully not last) plant I'm putting up for auction. I'm sort of new to the whole plant sales thing, and this will be a practice run with plenty other plants to come in the future as I intensify my breeding program. As of right now, the proceeds will be used for basic nursery supplies so that I can elevate my breeding efforts. Thanks for taking a peek, and happy bidding!

Cross: Sarracenia rosea “Superpurp” x S rosea (Baldwin Co., AL)
The plant in this auction is a select clone of my cross between two different Sarracenia rosea plants. Therefore, it’s straight-up pure S. rosea.
However, the difference is that the pollen donor, the “Superpurp,” happens to be one of the largest roseas I’ve ever seen. This monstrous plant is housed in the off-limits conservation greenhouse at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Didn't stop to take a photo unfortunately, but folks who've seen this beast, like wireman, can attest to how fat and gluttonous it gets. The momma plant, a select clone from Baldwin Co., AL, has fantastic veining and excellent vigor. It’s shown in the last photo.
The Baldwin Co. parent was seed-grown from seeds that were collected under a research permit from Splinter Hill Bog Preserve. No other collection currently has that genetic material.
What I’m hoping for with this cross is exactly what I got in this plant: a giant, colorful, and vigorous pure rosea! This guy isn’t a mass-produced, tissue-cultured clone that everyone else and their brother already owns. It’s a seed-grown, unique individual!
