Here are a couple more shots from my buddy Adam's collection. His yard gets approximately zero shade and the Sarrs love it. He and I both snagged chunks of this beauty from philcula at the BACPS show (grrr Adam got a bigger division than me!) and it has just put out it's fall traps. The parent clones are two of Phil's best and he has made a bunch of badass mooreis with them. Anywho this clone is awesome - it opens green heavily veined with red then quickly infuses to a solid bright red. Then over time the traps darken and darken. A trap about a week old: The larger trap in the back is 2-3 weeks old: Can't wait to see this baby's spring traps!
I love these success stories calen. Adam is doing a great job with his plants. This is a great clone too. I have a nice specimen plant of it myself. The spring pitchers are basically better colored and baseball bats. Many thanks for the kudos bro!
Yes, I did.....normally I leave the 'phylodes' on till start of season, then clip them off. Plant grows clean that way with no effect. Clean spring growth is just my preference. When winter temps get into the 100-deg mark I trim everything down and leave about 2- 3 inches of green. (Trim no trim, doesn't matter really THIS plant grows as shown.)
The plant is grows consistently and branches aggressively. Just to note those are individual plants growing in three 2.5 gal pots. Plant colors evenly almost always but are limited to top portions when peat is 3 to 4 year old. (last photo below) That was prior to split. (Notice the height of the plant.)
This moorei puts out spring and fall growth with fall growth larger of the sets. I enjoy watching this plant grow. Its a great show annually with minimal maintenance.
Just to clarify the're about five-six individual plants in each pot hence the uniformed growth. All originated from one plate-sized rhizome.
Revisiting the TSF there's are so many threads here that have been bastardized due to phantom photo host. Guess that's just the way it IS! Thanks to rmeyer for raising this good thread from the abyss which was OG posted by calen with his photos, now phantom-ized. THIS SUCKs to new-comers. There's allot of good excellent threads like this one. The're down deep and you'll have to dive to find them.
Among-st all the modern hybrids out there this plant from Phil F deserves some attention. Its cake to grow and been out for quite some time and available. but not from me; mine! (Bilbo Baggins).
I here ya Bristol . *Begins rant that probably needs it's own thread* I've been thinking more and more that this site needs to be backed up, maybe as simple as screenshotted, to preserve the information. There has been multiple discussions about third party hotlinking failing users once terms of service change. I'm using Microsoft OneDrive now, so I feel reasonably assured it should continue in the future, but in any case they could eliminate the hotlinking feature tomorrow and me and my posts would be boned.
Unfortunately, I think the antiquated nature of this site also turns away a fair amount of users since instagram and facebook are so easy to post and share with a clean user interface. However, they got absolutely nothing on the cataloging of information on boards and the ability to see everything about sarracenia in one place. Anything that can to be done to preserve this info needs to be considered.
DirtyDivisions: summit I’ve been fine at a constant 95° F under the dome. Once the tiny seedlings have two pitchers I remove the dome and temps go down.

summit: @dirtydivisions Thanks for that! I'm sitting around 87-88F with the dome fully sealed but I wasn't doing that and sacrificing humidity to keep it cooler but I'll go ahead and close it down now!

mikee: Thanks you chofah, there is a great video from The Pitcher Project with Phil Faulisi this was what I was looking for. However it still appears to be wait and see what results come from the cross. Many thanks
Apr 21, 2020 3:41:45 GMT -5
Willy: It would be rather silly to expect totally predictable results from a cross. The individual plants grown from the seeds will vary, sometimes quite a bit, even with carefully protected hand pollination. If you open polinate, the variety may be even greater.
