Do you know if the trait carries over in cuttings or seeds of the stem forming plants?
If the trait is stable then it should carry over to cuttings. I recently got strikes on leaf cuttings from my plant so I should be able to see pretty soon. I have no idea if it carries over with seeds, I'll test that out as soon as I can get my plant to flower.
Many populations of D. intermedia carry the stem-forming trait, and it's rather fixed when it occurs as far as I can tell genetically (my Massachusetts colony forms stems somewhat, though not as pronounced as the plants above).
Been a busy month with vacation and still learning the ropes with growing these guys. Finally have realized I over-expanded a bit too quickly over the last year, leading to a couple of losses due to missing the signs of rot. Also have been battling Isodontia wasps who absolutely love the pitchers close to my pond and have been gnawing pitchers on top of building nests. Anyways here's a few pics:
gotta double check but i believe this is Hot Lips x Oreophila by way of calen
first pitcher of Leigha Simone for me

stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
