It's that time of year...time to add additions to the family! Today I made a trip up to California Carnivores (1 hour drive) and got there with just 30 minutes left before they closed. Thankfully I was efficient in my shopping and somehow walked out $137 poorer, but I'm totally ok with that.
- S. leucophylla "big mouth" x flava var. rubricorpora (CCs) - $24.95 - S. (leucophylla "red" x minor var. okefenokeensis) x ( x "extreme unction") - $14.95 - D. x 'Portland Sunrise' - $14.95 - D. dichotoma 'Giant' - $14.95 - D. muscipula 'B52' - $34.95 - D. muscipula 'Red Dragon' - $14.95 - U. sandersonii - $7.95

I hope that red splotch brightens up in the neck.

D. dichotoma 'Giant'
D. muscipula 'Red Dragon'
D. muscipula 'B52'
I'm blown away by the color on this thing, it's stunning! What a specimen.
D. x 'Portland Sunrise'
These two may become new non-Sarracenia favorites.
I can attest that "Blue" is probably a hybrid, and definitely more reluctant to flower (it likes decently bright light and cool winters). I managed to self it one year, and grew out several seedlings that are all now mixed together in their pot; the flowers are all somewhat different in shape, some of them having basically lost the "ears" that define sandersonii and the color pattern slightly different on each.
Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do.
sanguinearocks101: What are good plants to make hybrids with S. luecophylla with? Im looking for dark colors.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
