Hey guys I have some questions regarding my sarracenias I usually keep my pitchers sitting in about a fourth up the pot of water and strangely my new pitchers that come up keep turning brown on the edges it's been really hot lately like 112 - 115 degrees it's effecting all my sarracenias down to my purpurea I have been thinking that maybe it was the heat or it not having enough waterbut no matter what I did it keeps happening and I'm just wondering if it's actually the heat or the fact that maybe it's too hot and they aren't sitting in enough water or humidity or ect I'm just worried about them or that's something I use water thats like 10 ppm I flush them like every two weeks and idk what's going on
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
