AS some of you fellow homies may know...okay, okay, even if you're not a homie, but just a regular, normal human being who likes to get their nerd on, you might still know....Virginia is the northern most location for flavas, and they're really getting jacked up there, brah! Very few populations are still extant, but fortunately, Dr. Sheridan has done a lot of work to protect them from going extinct.
That said, red throated flavas in the Carolinas are quite rare in cultivation, at least in the US, and taking that a step further, super high quality red throated flavas from Virginia are very scarce.
Here's the holy grail of red throated flavas from Virginia, this is the absolute best clone from that State that I've ever seen! I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the first trap open this year! S. flava 'red throat' Sussex Co, VA, pics taken 5/12/21 and a few days later:
I guess you could call this thing an ornata or even a rugelii, but the whole nomenclature thing is a mess, so I like to make up names that are simple and less questionable:
Check out the red lining around the lip, incredible! This is after the trap has aged a little bit, and it's still a small. As the traps get much bigger, they tend to be way more impressive. First thing that came to mind was "YETHSSSSS!!!!" followed by "YASSSSSSS!!!!" No exaggeration, it's truly that exciting:
More to come as the plant grows up, I'll keep this thread updated.

Some updated pics of this incredible clone, taken mostly on 6/21/21. The good news about this clone is that it's just like Waccamaw: one of the best of it's type, look-wise but also surprisingly vigorous! Usually, the best color forms tend to be the slower growers:
sanguinearocks101: What are good plants to make hybrids with S. luecophylla with? Im looking for dark colors.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
