almightydolla and I have been attempting to locate some more sites around the ANF. With the help of almightydolla marking ecotones on Google Maps and my ability to drive a car we're a force to be reckoned with! We still have a lot of work but with the few sites I've been to so far it's looking very promising. I'll update this thread as we discover more areas but feel free to post any pictures you have from Franklin Co!
Another successful weekend for finding some new sites in Franklin Co. The photos from the first post are from a site we've dubbed "The Swallowtail Site" due to it's abundance of Zebra Swallowtails.
Again our friend almightydolla has proven his knack for locating these sites via ecotones and we've found two more sites. Well, a few more than that but because of the recent storms some roads were blocked by trees or some were a bit to dangerous for a solo trip. To access some of the more dangerous/blocked off sites we plan to drone them out in the near future. For now enjoy some photos of "Franklin Co. #4".

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
