I wanted to post this up here for you guys, since this is the one forum I don't think I would ever leave. Some know already, but for those who don't I did a little capensis breeding last summer. Here's the results from my efforts, actually since the first cross was made by a good friend of mine I technically should say "our" efforts. The combined genetics of 3 different variations of capensis. (Wideleaf x "Big Pink") x "Big Pink". Good thing "Big Pink" has a working name otherwise I would need two tags for the proper name, and my thumb would get a blister typing it out. 😂
My original plan was just to try and find an absolute monster of a wideleaf plant, but as I'm starting to see there's so much more potential with this cross, such as wideleaf albino (David beat me to the punch on this one), doesn't mean I won't find a better one than his😁. A true wideleaf red plant, or maybe a true giant of a wideleaf plant, even a white flowered red plant. I'm pretty confident I've found at least one of these already in here. Only time will tell though.
I'll update with some better photos in a couple weeks when/ if it ever stops raining here. Including a pic of my mother plant/s.
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
