Peeps, this June's weather in Ohio is getting to me. 12 days of precipitation, already almost 4 inches above normal with more in the forecast and only 1 day classified as clear skies. For the most part, the collection is hanging in there, as the shallow washing machine pans keep the water levels okay. However, I have had a couple younger flavas with rot so keeping vigilant eye day to day.
Hot Lips x Oreophila
Leah Wilkerson x Saurus - No huge pitchers yet but plant is getting huge so next year may be when it shines.
Flava var cuprea 'Carmelitta'
Sunshine in the forecast tomorrow so gonna try and take a bunch before more rain sets in....

Attempted rot fix number three. Number 1 attempt pull the drain plugs on the tables, doesn't work. Attempt 2 alternating fungicides between Cleary's and Physan monthly doesn't work, probably helps though. Attempt number 3 installing light diffuser under the pots to allow complete drainage, we'll see. Attempt four just might be burn it all too the ground, since I'm out of ideas. I firmly believe that since it's so cool and humid here and even when we hit 90+ it's still so humid the pots can go days on end without watering and still show no signs of drying out I may just have to step away until we move to a better climate, if ever.
For those who follow me on IG I found another one this morning.
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
