Tomato, Toe-mah-toe....is essentially what we're talking about here. When the trap ages, this clone can turn solid red from head to toe under optimal conditons, so I guess you can call this plant an atropurpurea in that case. With younger traps, the lid is yellow, so it can be called a rubricorpora under that circumstance.
I have no idea where you draw the line on this one, environment and age of trap plays a huge role on color. Our academic homies Donnie Schnell and Stewy McPherson didn't include such horticulturally-discovered details when naming atropurpurea, so by definition, what this variety should be called is a grey area to say the least.
If it were up to me, I'd call this variant "S. flava var. ornata precurser" LOL Look at those veins on the lid, if you water that down with the right flava rugelii, you're bound to get some stunning ornatas....
Some updated pics of this clone, which I guess you could call a rubricorpora....it's not like the rubricorporas in Bay or Liberty Co, FL where you have enormous populations of them, this color form just shows up here and there. It's not really an atropurpurea either, but since this clone is already in circulation, I'll leave the name alone for now. It's way too confusing to have multiple names for the same clone. Moving forward, I do have a new clone that is even better than this (ie. body colors up very quickly, lid stays yellow even as trap ages...so far!) and I'll probably call that one a rubricorpora because it's a flashy name for an okaloosa co, FL genotype.
Anyways, here's the original "atorpurpurea" yellow lid Okaloosa Co, FL clone, Pics taken 6/25/20:

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
