Hey Folks, I have been a member of this forum for a little while now, and I haven't posted anything so I figured I would start alphabetically. I hope you enjoy. This is basically just regurgitation of pics from my photo-hosting site, with a tiny bit of narrative. If you have already looked at my pics, you have already seen these.
Here is a pic of alata flowers in Jackson County, Mississippi on March 25th 2006. Early morning with frost still on the flower.
Another pic the same day, after the frost melted.
And on May 2nd 2005.
And the famed Exyra semicrocea moth inside the tube, with the characteristic "window-pane" feeding of the larva visible.
The same site, November 9th 2011. The site has really declined at this point and very few plants can be found.
For some reason or another, the BBCode is not working correctly for posting these images. This post is a hodgepodge of different formatted text to get these images here. I do not understand why, as they are all hosted on the same site, with the same easy features to copy the code, and it has worked in the past. Below are several more links to photos that I wanted to include from November 9th 2011. If you are curious, click them, if not, just scroll on through.
And now for the famous Buttercup Flats in Stone County, Mississippi.
November 9th 2011. This is the only time so far that I have been to this site, and though it was late in the year, I was astonished at the diversity in shape, size, and color at this one site. Thankfully this is protected from development. But places like this can easily fall victim to lowered water tables from activity off the site.

I hope you enjoyed the post as much as I enjoyed taking the photos
