To all of you who are interested in macro photography:
This is the first arrangement realizing the maximum macro scale I can set up with my new Fujifilm X-H1 camera. Here the arrangement:
Fujifilm X-H1 camera, external trigger, external flash, Nikkor 50 mm lens, aperture value 22, ISO 800, extension bulb (Nikkor) and inversed mounting support for the lens The lens is not optimal but it works like a microscope and you can see at least some nice details.
Here a photo of a gemina from Drosera swelliae starting to grow. It is fascinating what can be seen now: Note the fine glands at the outside of the leaf and the zone where the first fine roots originate
The reduction of the scaling factor reduces the optical diffraction and delivers really nice results. Below see the flower of Utricularia livida (a blue form with wide flowers, width of the flower is 4 mm).
An opening leaf of Dorsera cuneifolia: Note the fine glands (?) of the top perpendicular orientated tentacle!
Prey captured by Dorsera cuneifolia:
So far so good. Next steps will be to build a special CP macro photography setup. Then I will start to explore the tiny world of the carnivorous plants. Will keep you updated!
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
