To be honest, I think if I owned a real example of such a rare and valuable clone, I would contact a commercial micropropagation lab and see if it would be possible to produce a large number of plants to sell or pass on.
You would have to produce the cultivar or clone yourself in some cases. Sometimes people have rights to specific plants. Selling someone elses cultivar in mass amounts without permission is not usually something thats done. But if you get the rights to do so more power to you! It would significantly decrease the value of the plants, if they were more common.
Creator of the forums! Yeah, I know I was away for a while, but I am back!!!
You can lawfully mass produce any non-patented Sarracenia cultivar without the permission of the breeder. But if the breeder has a lot of political pull and don't like what you're doing, they can make your life miserable. Most savy business people who mass produce plants work with the breeders, as they know they can make more in the long run working with them rather than against them.
I'd like to clear thing up here! I am the person that listed this one, I was told it was a Saurus, when in was trading with a person I met in Oregon. To me it also looked different to me but I carelessly mocked it up to the Plant being grown in a different place/Environment. I had the plant for a little over a month until I decided to put it up for sale. Then I was told through eBay messages that it wasn't the real deal so I took it down.
I will say 100% I was definitely careless to this situation and I should have been more Aware of the plants differences.
As for trying to rip anybody off , I am not here to do that. This is my hobby and my favorite hobby at that. This is a Big mistake on my part and I do sincerely apologize, I do try to keep everything in order and make sure the cultivars I trade or attain from others are the real deal.
The Saurus and The Black Widow were from the same trader as well so Ill have to fix this mistake as well.
Hats off to you for doing the right thing here! Unfortunate that someone may have taken advantage of you but glad to hear you're doing right by your buyers.
My apologies, I stand corrected. Flava -"Goldie" which is a bright-yellowish looking flava, florescent in color. A rare and pricey plant. I recall on a EURO sarracenia forum two growers were just going back and forth on which ones plant was legit and I think it came out that neither of them had the right plant.
Thanks meizzwang , for the other names. I'll contribute photos as well.
Now this notion is for a positive and informative discussion. In my opinion some of these IMPOSTOR plants are incredibly beautiful like the LW and AS Impostors, MW's Drummonds Impostor. To some its worth the time knowing the history behind "WHY" and HOW these plants came about and WHY they are referred to as IMPOSTORS, like the European Flava "Goldie" why and how there're several clones out there. From what I read the story is quite interesting. What would cause a grower to get totally TICK! just by getting told "your plants a fake dude", mine's the real thing. vs .
IMPOSTOR category could also be seen as an ALERT thread, putting in check those (people) whom are facetious and are out to make $ on the dumb-ass and mis-informed......like me. How I just didn't know the Oreophila I had was INDEED an imposter until Calen enlighten me here.
Maybe some of these folks whom are responsible for stirring up confusion and question are perhaps the creators of some of the most gorgeous sarracenia plants out there. There's a reason why its jacked.
To get back to this thread. This poor guy/gal whom's selling this plant designated as a 'Saurus', I believe that's fair to say since PF shot it down before us. Facetious or just ill-informed? I wonder if he/she is wondering why the plant with such a HOT name is NOT selling. TSF?
Here's Adrian Slack IMPOSTOR. NOW, is it some other plant? I don't know.....

mikee: Thanks you chofah, there is a great video from The Pitcher Project with Phil Faulisi this was what I was looking for. However it still appears to be wait and see what results come from the cross. Many thanks

Willy: It would be rather silly to expect totally predictable results from a cross. The individual plants grown from the seeds will vary, sometimes quite a bit, even with carefully protected hand pollination. If you open polinate, the variety may be even greater.
