Last winter I purchased several species from Meadowview Biological Station that were missing from my collection, including S. psitticina. As far as I knew I was ordering the "typical" form of that species. I bought three plants but I actually got 5 individual crowns, which I plants as a group of four in one spot, and the fifth in a semi-aquatic situation, in my bog garden, fed by a natural spring branch. One of the plants grew much faster and much larger than the others and appears to be a "giant" clone with traps to about 2 inches in diameter. I was very impressed! Here is a photo I just took with my large hand for size perspective.
All of the plants have great color too, so while somewhat pricey, I was pleased not only to support a good cause but with what I got!
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
