Hello all, Every year my awesome fiancee and a number of her coworkers run a Ragnar Relay and each of them raises money for a charity of their choice. Last year they donated $50,807 to a variety of organizations including the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society, Bridhes to Prosperity, and others. This year, my better half will be donating to TNC of Alabama, with funds specifically earmarked for CP conservation work. We have donated to TNC of AL as part of our annual auctions in years past, and they are a stellar organization that does a lot for CP and so many other wonderful life forms and landscapes. Her goal is $5,000 and every little bit helps! She, I and of course the plants are grateful for anything you can contribute! Follow link below for more information and to donate. Feel free to PM me with any questions you have!
Are they taking donations until they hit the 5000 dollar mark? Or is there a cut off time. Thank you for sharing this Calen!
Great questions Heath - the race is March 23, so that is the cutoff, but we’d like to see the donations roll in before then if possible. $5,000 is the goal but there is no cap, and obviously the plants could use as much as people are willing to give, so give give give! Also a big thanks to everyone who has donated so far - we are at $1,300!!
Thank you for posting boarderlib! Let me share a little bit more as well. The North American Sarracenia Conservancy has now partnered with us on this project and made an extremely generous $500 donation. With matching from Fabiana's company, it has been effectively doubled to a $1000 donation. So huge. The NASC is a group of passionate people who are doing great work to raise money for Sarracenia conservation and also engaging in direct projects to protect threatened populations. Their website is www.nasarracenia.org so please go check them out. Mark, the president, Heath, Tyler and all the other folks have been a pleasure to work with so far and it's great to all be on the same team working for these plants.
We are now at $3,5020 in donations! This is crazy. So many folks from the Forum have stepped up and for that Fabiana and I are so thankful! Let's keep it going and crush our $5,000 goal - we have a little under 3 weeks left to raise funds!
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
