Looking absolutely fantastic dj57 - we are having an epic summer aren't we? I love the way the Drosera have naturalized into a red carpet in spots, and that red-hooded catesbaei thing from Jerry...damn! Put me down for a piece of that bad boy. Here are a few shots taken over the last couple weeks. Have been in the mid-summer pitcher lull without a ton of new stuff opening, but now that we are getting into August a lot of things are becoming active again. Mostly collection overview shots: IMG_1560 by Calen Hall, on Flickr IMG_1561 by Calen Hall, on Flickr IMG_1493 by Calen Hall, on Flickr Every single spring trap on HCW F was blinding solid white this year. Having them open so late in the year (these opened in June!) means the sun is very, very strong and really brings out the whites. Downside is I don't know if there will be time for them to fall pitcher before it gets cold! IMG_1563 by Calen Hall, on Flickr IMG_1546 by Calen Hall, on Flickr Black Widow looking dark! Thank you Calen! Yes, once things finally got going everything took off and grew quickly. I also love my "weedy" dew carpet in the bog. Haha, I just went out and put your name on a tag for a division and stuck it down beside that complex hybrid from Jerry. I love this one and may divide it up next year, been waiting for it to get to a decent sized clump and this year it is going crazy with growth.
Damn Calen, need sunglasses to view that HCW F! Your beds are looking fantastic, can't wait to see the fall show and I am optimistic we are going to get a decent one. I am wondering what affect the 100+ temps most of this week is going to have on things though.
Very nice calen, these HCW leucos are stunning... dj57, plants in the bog look really healthy ! Colors are beatuful ! Mine are loosing color and shape : too hot (?) and too much insects in pitchers, they are becomig brown and dry...but I think it's normal
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
