Greetings to all.
I'm sorry that for some reason my previous attempt at joining and posting went wrong. For those who want to see 3 hours of video on U.S. carnivorous plants (focusing mainly on Sarracenia and Darlingtonia, starting in the Green Swamp, moving through the Gulf Coast and then to northern California with Dr. Barry Rice as a special guest star), I want to offer my two-DVD set, "Carnivorous Plants of the United States" to all at the same pre-release pricing I gave to members of other CP boards. For the next 10 days, you can get the two DVD set for $39.95 (which includes postage in the U.S.). After the 10-days, the price will be $49.95. There is a 6 1/2 minute preview video you can watch on YouTube at:
I am also finishing the companion DVD titled "Sarracenia Experience" which was shot completely in high definition (though it is on a standard DVD that anyone can play). It runs nearly an hour and is nothing but stunning images of Sarracenia species (and large "swarms") and hybrids from the two best remaining populations in Baldwin County, Alabama and Liberty County, Florida. The DVD is selling for $14.95 and for the next 10 days I'll pay shipping to you if you are in the U.S. I do have a European distributor and if you want that contact info, just let me know. I am going to post a preview of this DVD tonight on YouTube, so check back and I will post the link here. If you would like both DVD programs (three DVDs total), just add $10 to the first set for a total of $49.95.
Folks, these are not "commercial" DVDs meant to make money. I'll never, ever recover a fraction of my expenses and I thank the people at Tree Fog Entertainment for giving me the much-needed funds to complete the two-DVD set. I just felt that I had to put the best video I had shot over the last 8 years or so out there for everyone to see. Many of the sites are no longer even there any longer. I promise you will be blown away! There's even a chapter on threats to CP here in the states and it applies to almost everywhere.
If you have questions, post them here and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for reading this. Hopefully the image of Disc One of the two-DVD set is appended to this message. Click on it to see a larger version. Thanks all for reading this and I appreciate your support. What a great place we have here to post info regarding Sarracenia. I will be posting images from the DVD shoots to the IMAGES link either later today or tomorrow.
With all best regards,
Jim Miller
P.S. Some of you "older" Sarracenia lovers may recall the articles and artwork I posted decades ago in CPN, or my first DVD, "Gulf Coast CP Populations" which pales compared to these new discs. Thanks again!
