I just got my first shipment of plants in. A sarracenia, and 2 sundews. I have had the cage set up and operating for 3 weeks using an inch of clean gravel on the bottom, topped with 5" of a 1:1 of peat moss and washed sand. I am using a T-8 grow bulb and keep the cage at 60-70 degrees and around 50-75% humidity. After having the plants in for 2 days I'm seeing brown at the tips of the sarracenia and am wondering if it's possible it's just in shock. I should also mention that all of the water that was used for cleaning everything and watering the cage has been distilled. Also, the sarracenia got flipped around during shipping and got a fair amount of dirt inside the pitchers. Any suggestions and/or comments would be appreciated.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
