I received this guy for free as my 1st cp so it has been in my care for 5 years. Strangely enough it may be somewhat unique. It is a Tate's Hell Bog Catsbaei originally removed from nature back in the 80's.
I dubbed it "The BULLY" bc it has kicked the crap out of everything in that pot. Damn near needs to be potted by itself!
Kind of surprised S. 'Legacy' only went for $361. Always thought that plant was Rob Co's baby and he'd be the first to sell one on ebay.....silly me.
Oi, I lost interest once it crested past $150. lol.
I could literally buy like 4 Nice plants/CV's for that(and I am talking about the $150!!); once my want list gets to the point where only the ridiculous ones are left then maybe....until then prioritize I shall.
It has worked well for me so far. I do not have an exact count but I am fairly certain have over 100 combined nice CV's and species.
So far the only one to break the $100($150) barrier was a VL Adrian Slack. There may be 1-2 more but unlikely bc I would remember paying that much. From personal experience the best "value" market price point for me seems to be between 75-80. At that spot I will usually get a rare CV/Species mature or better(excludes Ultra Rares unless you are lucky enough to bargain a small division).

This plant is becoming a favorite in my collection. It seems to possess all the traits I would call desirable. It is quite vigorous, ornate and it seems to keep putting up better and better pitchers all year long!
I believe I got it from Wes in early 2015. It is a MBRS 'Red Flame'
Couple more CV's 1 a recent acquisition. First, a MBRS 'Tomahawk'; it will probably take a couple years for it to reclaim it's former glory. It is a smaller division and based on my experience with the other version I have, the Tomahawk dark that is not a a fast grower but am certain it will be worth the wait.
Second, due to the recent tag incident makes id a little more challenging but based off what I am seeing looks to be a ruffled sparkler.
summit: Hey guys, I'm about to sow some seeds and I was curious to know what everyone thinks 'too hot' for Sarracenia seeds would be? Having them in the dome bumps up the temps a bit.

DirtyDivisions: summit I’ve been fine at a constant 95° F under the dome. Once the tiny seedlings have two pitchers I remove the dome and temps go down.

summit: @dirtydivisions Thanks for that! I'm sitting around 87-88F with the dome fully sealed but I wasn't doing that and sacrificing humidity to keep it cooler but I'll go ahead and close it down now!

DirtyDivisions: Yep, Sarracenia will grow anywhere! In your toilet even...if have the proper amount of light etc...

mikee: So I would like to know the different properties for colour - vigor - size etc I don't have the time due to my age so would not be able run over many years can someone help or guide me

mikee: Thanks you chofah, there is a great video from The Pitcher Project with Phil Faulisi this was what I was looking for. However it still appears to be wait and see what results come from the cross. Many thanks

Willy: It would be rather silly to expect totally predictable results from a cross. The individual plants grown from the seeds will vary, sometimes quite a bit, even with carefully protected hand pollination. If you open polinate, the variety may be even greater.

superstressed: Recently purchased a s. purpurea from Mike and I am so impressed with the quality of the plant that arrived. My Purpurea is now one of the larger plants in my collection! Mike also included an beautiful Flava var. for free. I will absolutely buy again.
