So last year, I went with my family to a place on a isolated lake in oregon. On the property growing partially in the water, I saw a plant with a real cute yellow flower and it was growing all over the place. I took a small cutting back with me and planted it in pot of dirt in my fish pond and it has grown a ton and is flowering. I think its just gorgeous, does anyone have any idea of what the plant is?
These are annuals, so you'll have to acquire seeds. They're common native "weeds" here in California, and they are likely invasive, so it's probably not a good idea to plant them outside of their native range.

stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
