Sarracenia var. atropurpurea Cook's Bayou, FL W (F134, MK) alone then in the company of the dark reference Don Schnell F124 MK (Cook's Bayou in the foreground). The inside of the Cook's Bayou pitcher remains clear, on the other hand its operculum is completely dark purple (that of the Schnell retains, sometimes, some green-yellow spots). The level of purple is equivalent in the 2 plants (cultivated under the same conditions : open air & full south ; pic 3 July 2021. The flower is washed red (Pic April 14 2021).

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
