It just keeps getting more beautiful....I nominate you and Phil of be named the carnivorous plant communities...."botanical artists" ....... ...hey! that's an idea....Jonathan M....every December we could run a poll,Forum Botanical Artist of the Year, then make an sell a t--shirt,sticker,pin,or whatever we can do that's not expensive and can perhaps be available for the entire year out of an image of one of the winners sarracenia-chosen not by our votes but by the winning artist as their "prize" for winning along with a 50/50 split of the proceeds to keep up the forum and a C.P charity of the winners choice, even themselves considering what peat and water costs everyone to grow big collections.......of course I'm just dreaming on the keyboard-logistics may make that nearly impossible for our small pack of plant slaves.
From the pictures it looks like the red edges sharpen and the white gets cleaner. This is a beautiful plant, very nice job! I'm curious, is this just a hobby for you or do you love your job? Thank you for sharing the pictures!!
Thanks Flora! I'm actually in real estate, this is all on the side! Hard not to love this hobby once you really dig deep into it! Katyadog1-it's actually pretty fast growing, I expect it to flower next year when it turns 3.

I want to breed "Ellie Wang" with this one which I'm probably going to name "Hawthorne Grey". Our kids will make beautiful babies lol.
HMMMMM.... DirtyDivisions Speaking from experience.....I take it you've never felt the wrath of 'a father of a daughter scorned'?
Ellie was born with good street smarts (My wife grew up in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the US, there was literally a shooting in front of her mom's house a few weeks ago). It took 2 years before Ellie FINALLY started giving her daddy hugs, and she "Thug mugs" like nobody else....she pushes people away if she's not comfortable with them and if they get up in her space, but is otherwise dying to learn, really easy going (around me), polite and has those boisterous giggles. She's going to have some crazy high expectations, but I bet Hawthorn will be chill like his pops! Me and my .223 are not worried about Ellie....
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
