Don't feel too bad, Eric. My tallest flower stalk is still shorter than your tallest pitchers and I'm just starting to see the first signs of pitcher growth. This is after a mild winter here in zone 8b.
S. 'Leigha Simone' with a nice set of flower buds. This plant is so awesome. Grows like a weed. In going to try and let it fill out this 4 gallon bucket before dividing her again. This will be year 3 in the bucket. I'm hoping two more years and it will be full.
It's that time of year, and everything is moving out of the greenhouse, awaiting proper spring weather (we had nice weather yesterday, and then got snow dumped on us today, grrr...and more expected in the coming week). S. "Denise Marie" by Hawken Carlton, on Flickr
And flowers have been opening! This one has been smelling up my room for over a week now, and a second flower just opened... ugh...on the positive, it's been crossed with S. x readei "Alabama Red" S. oreophila x flava by Hawken Carlton, on Flickr The "Alabama Red" itself opened further after this photo was taken, producing an almost frilly looking, large flower. It has been pollinated by S. 'Dan Winter' S. x readei "Alabama Red" by Hawken Carlton, on Flickr 'Dan Winter' has a nice peachy flower, though it would probably be darker in decent outdoor light (curses CO weather again!). Pollinated by S. "Michelle McCall" S. stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
