DirtyDivisions: I've only been twice, once in May and once today, and every time, I am just astounded at the beauty and by how vast the site is. It would be an awesome place to use your drone. Let me know if you ever do come see it. I'd love to tag along. I'm hoping to return in August.
I'm having some trouble uploading my pictures, but this is a few of the good ones. It looks like they didn't burn a lot of it this year, though there was a field I went to that looked like it was burnt fairly recently.
Great photos. Not sure on the snake, its not a garter snake that much I'm sure. Its not venomous either I will take a guess a pine snake? They are becoming increasingly rare. Cool bog. Thanks for the photos
The snake is a garter, likely Thamnophis sirtalis subspecies of some sort, probably ssp. sirtalis. I have sparse experience with the smaller species of that region but the general species groups are easy. I need P. lutea one of these days... those flowers are gorgeous.
Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do.
sanguinearocks101: What are good plants to make hybrids with S. luecophylla with? Im looking for dark colors.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
