Just put this one in a plastic toy boat and set it adrift off the Cali coast with a sail set at, let's see..., 63.2° from the mid line of the hull. One way or another the Pacific will deliver it up on a beach near me....
Hey Mike, as organised earlier in this thread that flava maxima in a boat never turned up. I was starting to wonder where it could be but just realised it may have stuck around in the Bay to compete in the America's Cup......
Maximas in general are defined by no red pigments in the throat of the trap. What I'm starting to learn is that there are "chameleon" maxima clones where they'll have veins in the throat under certain environmental conditions, but under the best conditions, they will be completely green from head to toe! The Cartaret Co, NC maxima doesn't seem to have this chameleon characteristic....or at least I haven't seen it yet!
Haven't taken pics of this Cartaret Co, NC maxima in a while, so here are some new photos taken 7/31/18. Love the peculiar, unique shape of this one!
And finally a pic to show the lack of red pigments in the throat:
kayota: how have I only just discovered this forum when I've been raising CPs for 15 years? I'm just getting back into it after accidentally leaving my plants with a crappy roommate and being unable to get them back

kayota: So all I have rn is S. oreophila but I saw a lovely leucophylla from a local grower at a garden center the other day so I'm gonna pick that up when I can

summit: Hey guys, I'm about to sow some seeds and I was curious to know what everyone thinks 'too hot' for Sarracenia seeds would be? Having them in the dome bumps up the temps a bit.

DirtyDivisions: summit I’ve been fine at a constant 95° F under the dome. Once the tiny seedlings have two pitchers I remove the dome and temps go down.

summit: @dirtydivisions Thanks for that! I'm sitting around 87-88F with the dome fully sealed but I wasn't doing that and sacrificing humidity to keep it cooler but I'll go ahead and close it down now!
