Buds! Buds everywhere! The plants are going for it and there's not a whole lot stopping them - daily highs around 70 for the next little bit here. Sorry east coast growers... Was pleasantly surprised to see a bud popping out of flava cuprea Lois - it produced a flower last fall and I didn't think it had another up it's sleeve... S. flava var. ornata "Black Veins" Bulloch Co. GA Clone B. Second year in a row it's bloomed - guess it's happy. This guy hasn't been nearly as slow a grower as I feared it might be. Here's flava var. rugelii AxB#1 - it had several more buds but I nipped 'em - want to see how much that affects pitcher size. Roseas gettin' at it. Mostly Mobile Co. AL plants - clone P at top has six flowers on the way. I'm a bit surprised, but a lot of my leucos are pretty far along in bud - some of them are going to bloom mixed with the flavas. Last year the flavas and the leucs were separated by about 2 weeks. This is "Wilkerson's Red Rocket." Here's a bud I'm excited about! I had my fingers crossed that my crazy-veined "Improved Black Veins" clone would produce its first flower this year - and it is!
Some seedling pictures. Sorry I didn't add the cross description.
stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
