Wow nice plants. Do not feel bad, Morpheus i feel like i constantly pester mike with countless questions and orders. As soon as i finish one order, i see something else i want, and i order some more. I feel so bad, i end up having long complicated orders that end up taking a few weeks to build up and i am always adding new plants and taking old ones off.

I received my first order the other day from Mike, and it certainly won't be my last . They are definitely some wonderful plants and I'm looking forward to seeing them growing this summer. What I got was S. leucophylla "61-D" from Baldwin County, AL, S. flava var. ornata "improved black veins", S. rubra ssp. wherryi "Chatom giant", and an awesome bonus S. flava var. rubricorpora 'burgundy' x rubricorpora clone L. For now they are in temporary pots until I get a bog set up in the spring.
Sigh, got jealous enough of your S. purpurea ssp. venosa, Tattnal Co. GA Morpheus, that I looked over Mike's list again, and of course saw enough I wanted to make another order.
Back Row L to R: S. 'Reptilian Rose', S. leucophylla HCW, clone E x F (sweet freebie!), S. leucophylla HCW clone F Front Row: 2 different looking S. purpurea ssp. venosa, Tattnal Co. GA. I can't decide which one I like better. Excuse the hose and leaves everywhere, it was yard work day when they arrived.

I placed an order with Mike two weeks ago and he shipped incredibly fast, me sending the payment to the wrong email address at first (always double check your spelling!). The plants got here Tuesday and are in wonderful condition! I knew I'd be a return buyer after seeing his photo tour, but after actually receiving the plants from Mike himself makes me even more excited to place my next order with him later in the year.

I had originally planned on ordering an Improved Black Veins, but in a spur-of-the-moment decision I decided to put down antho-free minor instead in my order and I'm so glad I did. I know how big Mike's plants are, but it's not like this was as common as a Dixie Lace or Scarlet Belle, so I was expecting maybe 2 crowns at the most. You can imagine my surprise when I saw that the plant has at least 6 growth points! Definitely worth the $50!
Remember how I mentioned me wanting IBV? It's as if Mike had read my mind, and inside the bag was a nice little freebie, a Flava var Ornata 'Improved Black Veins'
Ordering from Mike was a wonderful decision and I would definitely recommend him to anyone else on here looking for some really nice Sarrs without breaking the bank.
EDIT: This post was moved from Monthly pics to Mike Wang Photo Tour.
This is S. rubricorpora L x best clone from Mike Wang. These are a couple of smaller leaves that have some very nice coloration. The tallest pitcher on this plant hasn't opened yet and is currently pushing 23".
One of my favorites is S. flava ornata 'improved black veins'(select)....also from Mike Wang.
I actually find myself mesmerized by its aesthetics.
Last but never least.....below is S. flava 'extreme red throat' again from Mike Wang (hmmm......I'm seeing a pattern here...lol!!)
This one's only been open a couple of days and we've had clouds and rain for over a week. Once in a while the sun will poke out for a few hours and the pigments intensify rapidly. Finally, heat and humidity!! Grow dudes Grow!!
mikee: I have just joined this forum so will make a few mistakes - So here goes I have recently started my collection and now have some 150 to 200 plants during my first year. I have some very nice flowers spikes and would like to propagate.

mikee: Thanks you chofah, there is a great video from The Pitcher Project with Phil Faulisi this was what I was looking for. However it still appears to be wait and see what results come from the cross. Many thanks

Willy: It would be rather silly to expect totally predictable results from a cross. The individual plants grown from the seeds will vary, sometimes quite a bit, even with carefully protected hand pollination. If you open polinate, the variety may be even greater.

stu: Hi Mike: I’m pleased to report that the S. rubra wherryi Chatom Giant you sent has arrived in great shape as did the bonus plant from NC. Both are now back under southern skies and are feeling warm, humid, and at home again. Thanks!
