Hello everyone, I have been working on some designs for the t-shirt design. I was wondering what you guys think of it so far. Since there is plenty of time to edit it, let me know what to do to make it better:
I think a shirt like the one I am working on (this is still a prototype/work in progress), might appeal to people who are not interested in Sarracenia too, and thus they might want to buy it as well. I tried to make something that was less of a logo, and more of a t-shirt artwork that I would be proud to wear. I also tried to take greenthumb advice when he said:
It might be a good idea to have multiple types of sarracenia species to make sure everyone has their favorite species on the t shirt. This is an awesome idea and I love both nature nuts and rmeyers pics/ drawings!
And thats why S. 'Elaine Wang', S. purpurea venosa montana Translylvania Co, S. psittacina 'Large Red' Calhoun County FL, S. alata var. rubrioperculata Perry Co, S. leucophylla 'Red Rocket' N. Walton Co, FL, and S. rubra (but I forgot which one... ) are all represented.
I am pretty good at Photoshop too, so if anyone wants me to help them with their design as well, let me know. DirtyDivisions once the final design is done, I can help digitize it to get ready to be submitted. mcmcnair if you need help turning that minor head over, i can do it pretty easily on photoshop (I think). rmeyer Your design is awesome, but if you need any help with anything let me know
Jonathan that looks very cool! I appreciate your intent to make the shirt artistic and not just a logo and I think you succeeded. One piece of purely compositional feedback: the trumpet on the right, the one that bisects the psitt, would look better in my opinion if its bottom end weren't hanging in space. As it is, the pitcher bottom creates a dead-end that stops the eye's movement. I think the composition will look cleaner if that pitcher is angled in to join the others, as in a bouquet. The bottom left of the grouping already has this effect and looks really nice: it draws the eye in and has lots of details to hold your interest, what with the purp montanas lurking in there!
Wow, Jonathan........based on that design now I have a better idea what you're looking for. Full color too, huh? So are you just going to change the colors when you print on darker colors so it will show up? Interesting.....my design wasn't even in the ballpark......lol!
sanguinearocks101: What are good plants to make hybrids with S. luecophylla with? Im looking for dark colors.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
