What will be in this match are 2 flave rugellis regarded as "giants".
both rhyzomes were are the same size and obtained within days of each other. they will be grown in the same conditions etc....only variable i cannot account for is which one traps more insects.
one was obtained from dean cook labaled flava rugelli "ga giant" thomasville, ga and the other from mike W. labaled flava rugelli a x b clone. i do not remember the location data off hand.
mike says this one gets big too so once spring hits I will post pics in this thread to see their progress as time goes by. This will be a 2 year commitment before a winner can be declared since they both came from different places. Typically for me IMO it takes them 1 full dormancy to get 100% adjusted to the climate and really start making the big traps especially when they come from the west coast bc their dormancy period is different I believe.
hopefully this will generate some interest so sign up...sorry wont have much to post until april. LOL.
I love giants, so I'm looking forward to seeing your conclusions. I have F18 from Mike King, which is also a giant form. Still, it's a recent acquisition and rather young, so I'm not expecting it to be my greatest performer in terms of size this year.
neither yet.......i just put them in the full sun yesterday. not sure how sarracenia react persea as in bad consequences but several of the newer acquisitions' growth have been stunted/died back. im guessing to the recent weather here....70's for 4 days then back in the 20's and 30's. i believe it is a thing of the past tho.
i haven't checked the labels on every one to see which ones are affected and which are not but hope all will be alright.
sanguinearocks101: What are good plants to make hybrids with S. luecophylla with? Im looking for dark colors.

adaetz100: Sarracenia purpurea tends to add a lot of red/purple to its offspring, but there are some lovely dark red flava x leucophylla crosses too. Look up 'Royal Ruby' if you're not familiar with it already--it's a natural flava x leuco hybrid
